White City! "Central Illinois’ Best Kept Secret"

Welcome SignResidents enjoy the benefits of a small, quiet town with easy access to the bustling cities of St. Louis, Springfield and Litchfield. We’re located in beautiful Macoupin County in Southcentral Illinois.

Our Village has a newly renovated park with pavilion great for family reunions or picnics. Or our Town Hall is also available to rent for parties, receptions or meetings.

The children of White City are bused to Mt. Olive school district #5 which is only a ˝ mile away. http://www.mtolive.macoupin.k12.il.us/

Besides being a great place to live, White City is proud of its history. Established as a coalmining town, the coalmine supplied free electricity for its residents until 1960.

 Town Tidbit:

In 1904, after  the World's Fair in St. Louis ended. Homes erected for the fair were dismantled and the wood shipped to the area providing materials for 52 white buildings used to provide houses for local miners. The all white buildings gave the community its name.
